Battlestar, Johnny 5, and Swedish Meatballs - Who Could Ask For Anything More?

Linny,

I know, the lack of correspondance has broken all the rules of conventional blogging. Let me start with you (cause I know you've been chomping at the bit.) A bit too personal? Perhaps, but so very you. My opinion? Well, I have many of them, but with reference to your habit of choosing the "not so good guy" I have to refer to a conversation I had yesterday with an unlikely inspiration. The ex-boyfriend. We chatted yesterday and he was telling me about a relationship that he's been in now for roughly 8 months. Let me just remind you that he is now almost 35 and basically just wants a nice girl to settle down with and have babies. He's says the girl is attractive, she's cool, and they get along wonderfully - but he broke it off. Why? He claims she didn't get excited enough about him. Basically just too low key. To me, this is a kickass reason. Most guys in his situation (at35) would put a ring on any girl's finger they find attractive, are compatible with, and share the same ideas of a future. But he's holding off on finding a girl who is not afraid to show the world that she's crazy about him. How does this apply to you, I ask? Because Linny, life is too short not to be with the people who aren't afraid to fall head over heels for you, and you to them. It is too short to be with guys who can't admit they like you and whom you think are going to dump you in two months time.

As for your St. A friends, well, I don't know them. However, if you are constantly worried about how they will judge a person whom you know makes you really happy - well, then stop having friends that suck so bad.

Anyways, we will be seeing each other in one sleep!! Not that we are going to be stuck for things to talk about, but here is a brief itinerary of the last month or so of my life, it will be a nice warm up. Serge and I saw Killa Kela at the Commodore - the guy's a beatboxing freak, I have no idea how he does what he does with his mouth but his gf has got to be one happy woman. Very worth seeing. He opened for Ozo Matley, this 9 piece latin, hip-hop funk band that actually made a snake through the crowd at the end with their instruments before ending off the set with "When you're happy and you know it". It was right on. I've been wined and dined at two Vancouver Fairmont properties now, one by Uncey Claude (after our tough day drinking wine in Whistler) and John "spaghetti legs" Samms. That phone call came right out of the blue, but any night that ends with Johnny 5, and a Japanese karaoke bar and 3 bottles of sake pretty much takes the cake as best night of the year. You should of seen us play back up vocals to Pegs' closing number of RESPECT - sock it to me sock it to me sock it to me. We actually hi-tailed it outta there as our ovation was still going. Believe me, you were on my mind.

I also had an impromptu platanic sleepover with Nik. Never ask a Swede to come over for a sandwich - he won't leave until 8:30am and he'll drink all your wine. However, we actually got in some pretty heavy discussion about love, sex, relationships and shnoobles. It was pretty cool. As young and self-absorped as that guy can be, he has quickly filtered into my "real friend" category that night. It's always nice to know there are people you can count on when you're away from home.

Alright, now onto Adama. As you know I was KellyKat's date to the Battlestar Gallactica wrap up party, so it was time to bust out the cleavage and heels as I entered a parade of geekdom. To be honest, geekdom is not such a bad place. Good appetizers. And I did get to me the cast. First off is me and Deck Chief Captain Galen Tyrol and I - he's not the star or anything, I just simply think we look cute together and he was wearing a velvet suit jacket. Secondly is me and The Man - Captain Adama (also of Miami Vice and Blade Runner fame) and Helo. If I didn't look so down syndrome I would have put the one of Tricia Helfer and I - she used to be West Ed. model, don't ya know. It was lots of fun, and Kelly was kind enough to take pics and introduce me as a VFS student, so I had some pretty good chats with writers and producers as well. Speaking of the Kat, he won a Peabody Award today, which is quite a prestigious honour in TV and broadcasting. Kinda like one step down from an Emmy. So congrats to the Kat. He's being very humble about it.

Oh yeah, and school's going really well too. Ha ha.

That pretty much does it.

Can't wait to see you buddy. Good Luck with exams.
